The Sam Maguire 7’s is a family event which is set to take place on the 7th September in the Sam Maguire GAA Grounds Dunmanway with the Doheny GAA Club, the Dunmanway Chamber of Commerce and the Sam Maguire Community Bells Committee. Dunmanway is steeped in GAA tradition and is very proud of its most famous patron, Sam Maguire. We wish to build on the existing legacy of Sam Maguire by embracing one of his loves, our national games.
GAA teams and their familes are invited from all over Ireland to Dunmanway on Saturday, 7th September to participate in both ladies and mens competitions. There will be all day family entertainment, including music by our local Comhaltas Committee. There will be tribute to Sam Maguire on display in our Pavilion and there will be hourly bus trips to Mallabracka, the homsetead of Sam Maguire as well as trips to the newly installed sam Maguire Community Bells.
Presentations and a prize giving ceremony will take place on Saturday evening in the company of GAA greats. This promises to be a late night!
